Faroevision ÍVF (“we,” “us,” or “Faroevision”) is committed to safeguarding your personal data. This policy explains how we handle information collected through our website www.faroevision.com and our activities, in line with the Faroese Data Protection Act.

2. What Personal Data We Collect
We collect data depending on your relationship with us:
Passive Holders, Active Holders, and Volunteers (18+): Full name, date of birth, email address, mobile phone number.
Volunteers under 18: Full name and date of birth of the minor; full name, date of birth, email, and mobile number of their legal guardian.
Participants (Lottery Winners): All of the above, plus bank account number and, if applicable, pension account number.
Payment Information: Our payment system processes your payment details (e.g., card number). Faroevision does not have access to full card numbers; we only receive confirmation of your transactions.
Website Data: When you visit our site, we automatically collect your IP address, browser type, and usage patterns via cookies. We do not place geographical restrictions on access to published material.
3. Why We Process Your Data (Purposes and Legal Bases)
We process your data for the following purposes, relying on these legal bases under data protection law:

4. Special Provisions for Published Content
Under our Vision, individuals who can be seen, heard, or otherwise identified in material have the right to demand that those portions be removed before final publication. Once the material is finally published, it is archived and cannot be deleted upon request, as permitted by the Faroese Data Protection Act’s archival exception (see Vision §32). By signing the consent form before participation, you acknowledge this condition.
5. Data Retention
Membership data: Kept for as long as your subscription is active, and for 5 years after termination for tax/accounting purposes.
Lottery and participant data: Kept for the duration of your involvement plus the statutory limitation period for any claims.
Published content: Retained indefinitely as an archive, with ownership transferring to the editor after 1 year.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, to restrict processing, and to data portability. However, data that is part of published archival material cannot be erased (see Section 4). To exercise your rights, contact us at legal@faroevision.com. If you believe we have violated data protection law, you may lodge a complaint with the Faroese Data Protection Authority (Dátueftirlitið).
